Crystal Castles - "Baptism"

Ontario based band Crystal Castles are set to release there second album "Crystal Castles" on June 7th. Crystal Castles have a lot to live up to since their first album was well received and critically acclaimed. But with the leaked track "Baptism" it sounds as though their new album will be even better. Ethan Kath took the reins and produced the album, however he didnt just do it in one studio he took the band to record in a church in Iceland, a self built cabin in Ontario and a garage behind an abandoned convenience store.  The track "Baptism" sticks to the Crystal Castles roots with electro bassline, 80's computer synths and nintendo like sounds. They already start touring and most likely some of their new tracks. I hope they get back down to Australia soon.

Jamaica - "I Think i Like U2 (Breakbot Remix)"

Breakbot is back and this time giving Jamaica's track "I Think I Like U 2" some Breakbot loving. Keeping with that cheesy love vibe that hes got going, Breakbot transforms the tracks into a 70's disco filled, turntable spinning beat. I think is one of his best remixes to date.

Science & Industry "Lets Go, Lets Go"

The kind people over at Rock Steady have sent over another awesome track from their EP "Lets Go, Lets Go". This one being the main track from their EP and features the LA based Vocalist Marie Herald. The track is full of thumping rymths, electro basslines, hypnotic voices and some fantastic guitar work that guide you on a dark but mesmerizing journey. Apparently they have an album the works but a release date is TBC.

Stereoheroes - "Blackout"

Renowned French dance floor destroyers Stereheroes was formed in 2008 and has gone from strength to strength. Playing out at packed out nightclubs and festivals stages, Stereoheroes is a force to be reckoned with. They are currently working on a new EP with South African MC Spoek Mathambo which is set to be a much anticipated release. They are planning on hitting Australian shores around mid May but are yet to secure a Perth date. I found that these guys sound a lot like Sound of Stereo, Felix Cartel and Zombie Nation to some extent. "Blackout" is a really nice dance floor banger.

Rifoki - Zombie Attack

Pretty cool looking video clip

Hypebeast "Prominent DJ and Dim Mak founder Steve Aoki and Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo have joined forces to create this new musical endeavor called, Rifoki. It’s their own Hardcore band created as tribute to their musical foundation which stemmed from hardcore music long before they became world renowned producers. Their lead single Zombie Attack has made a strong debut and now receives the video treatment. Directed by K.J. Palkiewicz, this visual journey is just as exuberant as the song itself. Zombie Attack will be featured on their upcoming self-entitled EP, Rifoki set to release April 13th via Dim Mak Records."

Mr Flash - "Couscous"

The one and only Mr Flash is back. Being the first artist to be signed to Ed Banger Records you would expect big big things. Mr Flash is on the verge of releasing a new EP "Blood Sweat and Tears" and is set to be an awesome release. The track "Couscous" reminds me of the work he did on Mos Def's latest album "The Ecstatic". Its has a Middle Eastern vibe with a really nice kick drum to it and some added distortion towards the middle. Ive got this on repeat. Erol Alkan has given his tick of approval to the new EP. Looking forward to the rest of the tracks.

Mr Flash - "Blood Sweat and Tears" EP Tracklist:
A1 – Domino (part A)
A2 – Domino (part B)

Flairs - "Radio (Jamaica Remix)"

I wasn't expecting this but Jamaica have done a rather nice remix of the Flairs track "Radio". Compared to the original the Jamaican boys have added a rather 1970's funk vibe to it with some added turntable spins and scratches. Loving it!

The Bloody Beetroots + Aston Shuffle = DESTROY

From Ministry of Sounds Australia The Reckless Side of Electro It has come to the attention of the Ministry of Sound that two of the most notorious gangs known to the establishment, The Bloody Beetroots and The Aston Shuffle have formed an unholy alliance which threatens to send the good citizens of Club Land into total anarchy.

In circumstances never before witnessed these two musical masterminds have created a weapon of unparalleled power known only by the name DESTROY. Possessing unprecedented sonic powers including the ability to melt the ears of the people of Club Land, intelligence suggests that the weapon will be implemented in a matter of weeks.

A statement made last night on behalf of the Alliance revealed alarming details:

“DESTROY is a musical force more hazardous than anything known to man, openly divulging the most reckless side of electro with two discs of razor sharp tracks. Drawing from an international network of co-conspirators including Boys Noize, D.I.M. & Tai, Kid Sister, Harvard Bass, Cassian, Simian Mobile Disco, Felix Da Housecat, Metronomy, Tiga and Proxy, DESTROY is the Alliances’ most deadly creation to date.”

Citizens are asked to exercise extreme caution in the coming weeks as it has been reported that underground supporters of the Destroy movement are infiltrating Club Land to further the Alliance’s reign of terror.

The Bloody Beetroots remain at large, most recently sighted at a remote European location. However, an anonymous tip off confirmed that The Aston Shuffle will be embarking on a sonic onslaught at select locations around the country this April.

After a reckless spree of illustrious remix work and a merciless radio invasion, The Aston Shuffle currently rank at #1 on The Ministry of Sound Justice Department Most Wanted list. Hailed by their followers as heroic outlaws for their blatant disregard of mainstream music conventions, The Aston Shuffle show no signs of ending their reign, with a debut release rumoured to be unleashed later in 2010.

But vying for the position of public enemy #1 is the elusive Bloody Beetroots. With an arsenal including the notorious Awesome and Warp which destroyed Australian radio in 2009, theirs is a story of alter-egos with an obsession for ruthless electro. This lawless faction is charged with responsibility for the current wave of anarchic underground tracks currently taking the world by storm alongside their numerous DIM MAK accomplices.

The Aston Shuffle - " I Wanna See You"

Aussie duo The Ashton Shuffle have just release their new single "I Wanna See You". The single is set to be released on Beatport on April 2nd with some remixes by Harvard Bass and DCUP. The track "I Wanna See You" could of easily been taken off MSTKRFTS album "The Looks" with some added rolling, grinding, dirty electro sound i love that reminds me of a lot like Boys Noize. Talk about the crazy German i'm not sure if they have sampled Boys Noize's track but i cant put my finger on what track it is. You'll know what i mean when your listen to the track, the sound is towards the end.

I thought id treat you guys and throw in the Harvard Bass remix! This remix is drenched in post-electro distortion, thumping base line but takes a step back with the lyircs and only throwing them in a few times. Its definitely up there in one of his best remixes.
